What is Upper Cervical Care?

While typical medical research involves 30 participants, a landmark chiropractic research study performed on over 6000 cases including infants and children under 12 years of age, from the years 1934 through 1961, proved the existence of "vertebral subluxation" and led early chiropractors to the realization that the upper cervical spine has a profound influence on our health and well being. As a result of this research, specific procedures dealing with the relationship between the brainstem and the upper cervical spine were developed and the branch of chiropractic known as Upper Cervical Care was created.

This junction area is vulnerable to injuries which lead to misalignments at the articular surfaces and to a physiological state known as vertebral subluxation. Vertebral subluxations caused by misalignments affect the brainstem`s ability to communicate with the brain, spinal cord and every organ system in the body which in turn affects all vital functions and overall health.
